Wildcats Notebook: Top Prospects Tournament

Day Two of the North American Hockey League Top Prospects Tournament gets underway today in Ann Arbor, Mich., with teams playing their second game in as many days in front of college and professional scouts.

Despite unfavorable results for their respective teams, Wildcat skaters enjoyed a successful first day at the event.

Nick Farmer posted a goal and had a game-high five shots-on-goal in Team South’s 9-2 loss to the USA National Team Development Program Under-18 squad. Jake Townsend and Max Reisinger also found their way onto the score-sheet with an assist apiece, with Townsend the only skater to finish the game with a positive plus-minus (+1) for Team South.

Skating for the NAHL Selects squad, Austin Beaulieu saw time on the power play and recorded one shot-on-goal in a 4-1 loss to Team Midwest. The NAHL Selects team is comprised solely of players eligible for the 2015 National Hockey League Draft.
