WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Wichita Falls Wildcats and the Northwest Texas Council, Boy Scouts of America are pleased to announce the first-ever “Skate into Scouting” day on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Kay Yeager Coliseum.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Wildcats,” Event Chairperson Christy Potter said. “This is a great opportunity for us to help our new scouts earn their first badge and learn more about the hockey, while growing the Northwest Texas Council, Boy Scouts America.”
From 9-11 a.m., “Skate into Scouting” attendees will earn their Bobcat badge by completing a variety of events throughout the KYC, working with Wildcats players and coaches along the way.
Additionally, all “Skate into Scouting” participants will receive one free ticket to that afternoon’s game when the Wildcats host the Topeka Roadrunners at 1 p.m., while parents may take advantage of a buy-one-get-one ticket offer. Tickets and vouchers will be distributed to all participants the morning of the event.
“Skate into Scouting” is open to all Scouts and youths interested in becoming a Cub Scout. If your child is interested in Scouting, be sure to visit any Wichita Falls ISD elementary school for Sign-Up Night on Tuesday, Sept. 9. For more information, visit www.beascout.org or www.nwtcbsa.org.
