The Wichita Falls Wildcats acquired Trent Dillinger from the Amarillo Bulls for future considerations on Monday morning.
The six-foot-three, 180 pound Dillinger is known for his hard-nosed style of play and his ability to use his size to his advantage. An alternate captain with Amarillo, Dillinger also has strong leadership qualities which Wildcats Head Coach John LaFontaine believes will be useful to the team going forward.
“He’s the kind of player you want on your team during the playoffs,” Coach LaFontaine said. “He brings a strong, physical presence when he’s on the ice, and he’ll be great to have around in the locker room. With this being his last season in junior hockey, we believe we can help Trent on his road to playing Division 1 hockey; he’s got all the tools.”
Having missed the postseason with Amarillo last year, Dillinger is equally thrilled to be a part of a team bound for the Robertson Cup Playoffs.
“I’m very excited to be a part of the Wildcats organization and get the opportunity to play under Coach LaFontaine and General Manager Paul Baxter,” Dillinger said. “Every single year the Wildcats put together a winning record and I’m excited to see how the rest of the year goes as a Wildcat!”
