With a roster that features a large corps of veteran players, the Wichita Falls Wildcats are poised for a strong showing in their 10th anniversary season. Rounding out the group of 13 returning players is defenseman Kristaps Bazevics.
Bazevics appeared in 21 games for the Wildcats in last season, chipping a goal and two assists from the blue line. The defenseman was a mid-season acquisition for Wichita Falls following a trade with the Johnstown Tomahawks. In total, Bazevics played in 51 contests in 2012-13, posting four goals and five assists to go along with 62 total penalty minutes.
This will be Bazevics’ third season in the North American Hockey League, as he played for the Alaska Avalanche during the 2011-12 campaign before the franchise relocated to Johnstown, Pa. for 2012-13.
The Riga, Latvia-native has represented his country on the international stage at both the U17 and U18 levels.
