The Wichita Falls Wildcats are gearing up for their 10th anniversary season and there is plenty of reason for optimism with 13 veterans returning for 2013-14. Included in that group is forward Ben Kucera, one of five returning skaters to tally at least 20 points last campaign.
Last season, Kucera potted eight goals to go along with 12 assists in 53 games for the Wildcats. The center is actually entering his third season in Wichita Falls, as he appeared in four games as an affiliate player in 2011-12, posting a goal and an assist in those contests.
Before joining Wichita Falls, the Kansas-native played three seasons with the Russell Stover Stars midget major squad. In his last season with the Stars, Kucera dominated offensively, scoring 27 goals and assisting on an additional 42 for a total of 69 points.
Kucera is one of four current Wildcat players with commitments to play Division I hockey at the Air Force Academy. He is joined in that group by fellow returners Tyler Ledford and Will Vosejpka, as well as newcomer Matt Koch.
