Part of a crop of 17 newcomers, defenseman Shane Kuzmeski and forwards Dan Lafontaine and Jonathan Lazarus are looking to make their mark in their first season in the North American Hockey League.
Kuzmeski comes to Wichita Falls after spending three years at the Northwood School in Lake Placid, N.Y. In 41 games played for the Northwood junior team last year, he posted 32 points on 10 goals and 22 assists from the blue line.
A native of Grayslake, Ill., Kuzmeski brings a smooth, offensive style to the Wildcats blue line to compliment returners Jake Townsend and Matt Koch.
LaFontaine most recently played for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.-native tallied 17 points on five goals and 12 assists in 21 games played in 2013-14.
The nephew of Head Coach John LaFontaine, Dan is committed to Canisius College of the Atlantic Hockey Association for the 2015-16 season.
Lazarus is a physical forward with the ability to put up points. Playing for the New Jersey Rockets of the Eastern Hockey League in 2013-14, he registered 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points in 39 games played. Standing at 6 foot, 180 pounds, Lazarus hails from Syosset, NY.
