Player Profile: Colin Staub

With preparations for the 2014-15 season underway, veteran forward Colin Staub is primed to play a pivotal role in the Wichita Falls Wildcats offense.

Last season, Staub registered new career-highs in goals and points, posting a 13-18-31 line in 57 games played to lead all returning players in scoring. He proved an offensive catalyst for the Wildcats last year, with Wichita Falls posting a 20-5-3 record in games in which he tallied at least one point.

The Colorado Springs, Colo.-native opened the 2013-14 campaign in style, notching five points through his first five games, and finished the regular-season with a flourish as well, recording six points over his last eight contests to help the Wildcats clinch a playoff berth. Staub also achieved a personal milestone in 2013-14, skating in his 100th game as a Wildcat in a 7-2 victory over the Lone Star Brahmas on Jan. 29.

The Wildcats begin their 2014-15 season on Saturday, Sept. 13 when they host the Odessa Jackalopes at the Kay Yeager Coliseum. All tickets for that contest are free.
