As another season approaches for the Wichita Falls Wildcats, goaltender Chase Munroe is one of eight returning players who will be looking to build on a solid first season in Wichita Falls.
Munroe enjoyed a strong start to his time in the North American Hockey League, winning his first three career starts, including a shutout in the season-opener against the Odessa Jackalopes. The netminder finished his rookie campaign with a 12-12-2 record, 2.39 goals against average, .910 save percentage and two shutouts.
The Illinois-native made Wildcats history last year, with his 2.39 GAA setting a new franchise record for best single-season goals against average, surpassing Matt Leon’s 2.81 GAA mark set in 2011-12.
Munroe was named the South Division’s Star of the Week on multiple occasions in 2013-14, receiving honors after leading the Wildcats to sweeps of the Kenai River Brown Bears in November and the Topeka Roadrunners in March
